Foundation Updates - October 2024
We have had an absolutely incredible month at the Timothy’s Perrysburg Foundation.
Our new Executive Director, Sara Ebright, started on October 1. Sara has an extensive business background that includes start-ups, organization & management, and marketing communications. She is also an experienced volunteer with organizations that help alleviate local food insecurity. As Executive Director, her hope is to honor the history, expertise and passion of those who established The Clothesline and Discovers while also exploring other ways to grow and serve through the addition of Tim's Rescue Kitchen.
Tim’s Rescue Kitchen
The kitchen has received our Certificate of Occupancy! We will also have our equipment up and running this month. We are one step closer to making soup. Food prep volunteer sign ups will begin soon.
We have also begun rescuing food. In the last 30 days our rescue team has picked up almost 800 pounds of produce. We were able to deliver produce to PCU Food Pantry in Perrysburg, Brown Bag Food Pantry in Bowling Green, and Food for Thought.
The Clothesline
The Clothesline has almost 30 volunteers who do an extraordinary amount of work every week. They are processing hundreds of bag of donated clothing and then run an incredible shopping hour each Friday where they make shoppers feel welcomed and loved. We can always use more helpers, so please reach out if you are interested in volunteering.
In October we were able to donated hundreds of pounds of clothing to a caravan that was traveling down to North Carolina to take supplies to a community effected by hurricane Helene.
Discovers Music Series
The Michael Boyd concert on October 6 was a beautiful afternoon of music. We had over 130 attendees, some coming from Michigan to attend. Make sure to join us on November 24 for our next concert, where Aaron Rutter (violin) & Susan Bernard (piano) present Musical Classics from Spain
